This is an E-Commerce operations support position located in a Web hosting co-location production operations environment.  The Systems Engineer will provide technical support in a production operations environment, and have thorough knowledge of various system management software across multiple operating system platforms and specifically HP automation suite.  This person will perform complex operational tasks that include support of various types of applications used in a web infrastructure, analysis of the root cause of any problem issues, resolution of any application problems, and escalation of any irresolvable issues to the vendor as necessary. This work is in a 7X24X365 data center.  Support system management software across Solaris, Windows, and Linux  platforms Providing trouble-shooting, maintenance, monitoring resource utilization, and ensuring appropriate capacity plans are in place and utilized. Develop perl, python and shell scripts on Unix, Linux and Windows Creates technical documentation. Coordinates activities with staff and customer support personnel assigned to a specific project. Participation in client meetings Contractor must be willing to work flexible hours including weekends and nights Responsible for sharing 24 x 7 on call rotation duties with other team Experience in installation and administration of HP BSM, HP Network Automation, HP NNMi, HP Operations Manager, HP Server Automation, HP Operations orchestration and HP uCMDB/UD10 Technical knowledge of distributed systems, shared infrastructure, Web-based applications.  This includes but not limited to Cisco, Sun Microsystems, BMC, EMC, WebSphere, WebLogic, MS SQL and Oracle. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a high-pressure environment Technical knowledge and experience in Solaris, Windows, and Linux Troubleshoot software and network issue Understanding of service-level agreements The following skills and experience are preferred: Configuration and management of DNS / BIND including DNSSEC Knowledge of SMTP protocol and email delivery systems Understanding of IPv6 networking from Operating System perspective Experience with managing web services and underlying components Experience with BMC Blade Logic server automation, Webtrends Analytics General requirements include extensive use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint if applicable.  Superior verbal and written communication; attention to detail; and strong organizational skills.
