GovHire is currently seeking seasoned Armed Protective Security Officers (APSO) for our client in Washington, DC. The Armed Protective Security Officer protects some of the nation’s most critical facilities, personnel, and equipment. The Armed Protective Security Officer works in a dynamic team environment on a cleared program for our client on a classified government contract.

Geographic Location: Washington, DC

Basic Qualifications:

Applicants must have graduated from an accredited US civilian police, US military police and/or a Federal law enforcement academy. Applicants who graduated from a Federal or State corrections academy which included firearms training and qualification to carry a firearm (not including the District of Columbia), are also eligible. Applicants must have at least eighteen (18) months of qualifying Municipal, State, Federal, or Military law enforcement experience, or eighteen (18) months of qualifying Federal or State corrections experience

Job Duties: The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: Security patrols, access control, security related personnel escort duties, traffic, parking control, law and order duties, as well as security and fire safety surveillance. Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship (Birth or Naturalized)
  • At least 21 years of age;
  • H.S. Diploma/GED; (No on-line diplomas or GEDs accepted)
  • Must meet and maintain contract physical fitness requirements
  • Must successfully pass a criminal and credit background investigation to include previous employment and personal references
  • Must successfully pass a physical examination to include a drug screen
  • Will be subject to a Government Security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information​
​​Other Requirements:
  • Successfully pass an employment physical;
  • Successfully pass background checks to include criminal, credit, and/or driving record;
  • Successfully pass all training and obtain required certifications to include CPR, First Aid, and AED;
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a required Armed DC SPO license;
  • Must meet client suitability.
